In 2019, the City of Derby is celebrating 150 years. Derby Public Schools has partnered with the Derby Noon Lions Club to host a fun, optional writing contest for students in grades K-12 who reside in the USD260 boundaries. Students will be asked to share their vision for the future of Derby.

The contest is open October 15-December 14, 2018. Each entry will receive a certificate for participation. A winner for each grade level will be announced in the spring and will receive a medal from the Derby Noon Lions Club at a future Board of Education meeting. The Derby Noon Lions Club will also award a $1,000 scholarship to the winning Senior. 

There are three forms for the following grade levels. Specific entry rules are detailed on each form.  

Grades K-5
Grades 6-11
Grade 12

Forms are available on the Derby Public Schools website at www.derbyschools.com or can be picked up in person at the Derby Public Schools Administrative Center at 120 E. Washington in Derby.
